Eye Testing

The Eye Scheme (BVA – Canine Health Schemes) is mainly designed to identify hereditary eye conditions in dogs. Tony Wall is the only ophthalmologist in the Highlands who is qualified to offer this service.

Run by the British Veterinary Association (BVA), the Kennel Club (KC) and the International Sheepdog Society (ISDS); dogs are examined by appointed veterinary ophthalmologists for hereditary and non-inherited potentially painful eye conditions. This is particularly important in dogs that might be used for breeding.

The eye test is a conscious examination performed with the owner present, with results given at the time and a certificate issued.
