Endoscopy
Endoscopy is used to examine body cavities or organs such as the airway, nasal cavity, lower urinary tract, oesophagus, stomach, and intestines. It can help to diagnose a variety of different conditions.
This is achieved through the use of an endoscope. This is a hollow tube which contains video technology in order to visualise internal structures, and guide the passage of instruments for sample collection, and/or retrieval of foreign bodies.
In general, endoscopy provides little risk to the patient and is a less invasive treatment compared to surgical options.
Types of endoscopy we offer include:
- Rhinoscopy
- Bronchoscopy
- Upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy
- Otoscopy
- Female cystoscopy
