Roberto graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Pisa (Italy) with honours in 1998. After a short period in General Practice in Rome he became Clinical Director and Head Surgeon in an independent hospital in Poggibonsi (Siena), and at the Teaching Hospital of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Pisa in Emergency Surgery and Traumatology. In 2016 Roberto moved to the UK. Here he has worked in different Referral Hospitals as a consultant in small animal orthopaedic and neurology.

Roberto obtained several postgraduate qualifications in small animal surgery and orthopaedic surgery, and is currently working towards the European Certificate in Small Animal Neurology & Neurosurgery. Roberto is an RCVS recognised Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery, and he loves all aspects of small animal Orthopaedic and Neurology/Neurosurgery. His main interests are arthroscopy, management of elbow and hip dysplasia, advanced corrective osteotomy for bone deformity, management of cranial cruciate ligament insufficiency, total hip replacement, Patella Grow replacement, spinal surgery and management of epilepsy/seizures.
